GOYN Rio de Janeiro: Exploratory Study 2023 (Portuguese)
Data & Technology | Asia | Case Study This report is the result of the Global Opportunity Youth Network Exploratory Study carried out by the Frente de Juventude of the Centro de Promoção da Saúde (CEDAPS) with the aim of identifying the context for the implementation of GOYN Rio de Janeiro, and to identify initial strategies to promote effective coordination actions that can expand and generate new economic opportunities for the most vulnerable young people in the city of Rio de Janeiro (Opportunity Youth).
In this document we present four lines of research:
(i) presentation of the current youth context, based on national and municipal data on the socio-economic and educational inclusion of young people aged 15 to 29;
(ii) a survey of 56 young people living in Rio de Janeiro about their educational and economic status;
(iii) consultation with 20 community-based organizations working in favelas on the challenges and opportunities for young people;
(iv) an in-depth interview with 5 social and economic inclusion institutions that provide training and support to young people in Rio.
